Tips for creating a User Profile page and a User Blog

Here is some additional help in getting started posting in the OrgasmWiki.

If you haven't as yet, pop over to the Cheatsheet page and print off a copy.

It's a very handy guide to the half dozen or so simple formatting tricks for presenting wiki text in a readable, familiar layout.

Then just click on your browser's BACK button to get back here and continue the tutorial.

A page called User - Every person who has an OrgasmWiki login name has one

Once an OrgasmWiki sysop has created your login name for you, you too will have such a page. If the sysop decided to call you My_name then once that account is set up, you will automatically have a SET of User pages whose name is based on My_name.

There is somebody who posts here whose username is Laly.

Therefore, when her login name was created here, she automatically had created a PROFILE page called User:Laly

AND

a BLOG first page called User_talk:Laly

By the way, those are live links there, so click User:Laly to read her profile, and User_talk:Laly to read her BLOG.

To find other OrgasmWiki users you may have heard of, or to get back to either of those sections of Laly's user area, in the Search Box in the left column of any OrgasmWiki page, you can just type in User:Laly and press enter to get to her profile page, or User_talk:Laly to get to her blog area.

There's somebody else called Zeitgeist. What would you type in that search box to get his user profile page? Write down on a scratch paper what you would type in, or...

Try your answer in the Search Box if you dare (just kidding - try it -
if it doesn't look like a blog, but more like a message to create a new page,
then hit your browser's BACK button and get back here!)...
...and then Click here for the answer...

FOR EXTRA CREDIT

What would you type in that Search Box to get to the beginning of Zeitgeist's BLOG area?

Care to try THAT in the Search Box?

Remember if you don't get to a page that says it's Zeitgeist's blog, with plenty of content in it,
then click the BACK button on your browser to come back here and continue.

If you wound up back here wondering what the correct wording nees to be typed in the left-column Search Box to get to Zeitgeist's BLOG, then for your answer, Click here

THEN COME BACK HERE FOR ONE FINAL TIP ABOUT CREATING YOUR OWN PROFILE AND BLOG.

How to create your own profile and blog in the OrgasmWiki

After you have requested and received via email your OrgasmWiki username and password...

You can create a profile about yourself - although you should take care to protect your anonymity - it is, after all, a public discussion.

That is, ask us for a login name that would not any information that could identify you such as specific names, addresses (including email addresses that may have your actual name or business), nicknames used in other online discussions that search engines might cross reference, etc.

We don't want to frighten you - we want to do what we can - given the inherently open nature of the Web - to help you create some meaningful degree of anonymity, so you may speak more freely and get the help you need to learn this lifelong skill.

With that in mind, once you have received your login name and password, click the login link at the upper right of any page in the OrgasmWiki and log in.

As soon as you're logged in, in the Search Box in the left column, just type in User: (remember that colon at the end!) followed immediately with NO spaces by the exact name you just used to log in.

So if your login name turns out to be Grmlfutz - in the Search Box you would type:

User:Grmlfutz

Press Enter and you should be taken to a page offering you an open Editing Box ready for you to start typing a little about yourself.

Please give us a general idea about yourself such as (in broad terms) where you live, age, marital status, orientation, experience with other modalities or special devices, disabilities that may create special needs re: erotic enjoyment, what motivated you to explore practice of the Multiple Orgasm Trigger Protocol™ etc.

When you've typed an intro (you can always come back later and add or edit the page - or most ANY page in the wiki for that matter!), scroll to the bottom of the Editing Box, click the Watch this page checkbox, add a little note in the Summary line so people will know this is your intro post, then click the Save button.

Congratulations! You should now be viewing your first contribution to the OrgasmWiki!

If things didn't work out the way you expected... Send an email to Jack and ask for help.

Please put wiki help in the email Subject line.

How to create your first BLOG entry

Assuming the steps you followed DID work out, and you ARE reading your profile on a regular-looking page such as THIS page looks to you as you're reading it...

NOW let's create a short blog entry in which you can begin to keep a diary of your progress with KSMO.

Remember that for a BLOG the format is User_talk: plus your username. User_talk is wikispeak for BLOG.

If your username is Grmlfutz then in the left Search Box you'd type: User_talk:Grmlfutz

You will now be in an Editing Box for the User_talk:Grmlfutz (or whatever YOUR username is that you'd typed instead of Grmlfutz!).

How to find out what the latest changes and new posts are, throughout the OrgasmWiki

From any page in the OrgasmWiki, click the Recent changes link in the left-column Navigation box.

You will see a list of the latest changes and new pages, who made the change or new post, and if it's an edit of a previous page, you'll also have the option to compare the most recent version of the page with any previous page.

Ok, that's enough for THIS page - go blog, create or update your OrgasmWiki profile - or... go practice the Multiple Orgasm Trigger Protocol™ and then come back and post!

Enjoy!
