Please keep this next section until I get it into the new buyer's welcome email - Thanks!

So the entry links to OrgasmWiki in any mass email to the ccwerks forum population could look like:

  1. The link to the main page
  2. The link to The recent changes page - BECAUSE it has that forum-friendly-feel. That is, the information on that page has a similar function to the 'news' page of the ccwerks forum.
  3. The link to the Special:Allpages page - which I've also added to the main page.

Yes that sounds great! Also notice that when you go to the Recent Changes page, in the Toolbox area, left col, there is an RSS and an ATOM newsfeed link. We could offer them that link as well to gain extra Kewl points. :-)

Z: 20061102-2149UTC Absolutely! a ton of those points.

Quick Start Guide

Z: 20061031-1900UTC FANTASTIC!  :-) I wrote a short rough guide on the ccwerks forum

Yeah it's cool! Please put a copy of it in Help:Quick Start Guide and link to it from the main Help page (get there by clicking Help in the leftcol navbox)

How 'bout making that reference a direct link to your post - and practice good wiki manners? LOL :-) - But seriously folks... it does save time - good habit to make the ref a live link - whenever we can remember, that is!

...based on those two wiki pages above to engender confidence for new users.

JJ: 20061101-0536UTC - Once you get a copy of the Quick Start Guide over here, (and we're live on multiples.com) pls remove the content from over there and put a link to the wiki, pls. Thanks!

Z: 20061101-1300GMT - Done on Wiki! will link when 'live'.

Guest usage and new account generation

It may be worth monitoring guest usage and new account generation. from the date of this post,

JJ: 20061031-1922UTC - YEAH! Maybe those stats are linked from that Special:Allpages page I mentioned above.

JJ: 20061101-0541UTC - Here at least is a Userlist.

and a further mention in the mass mailing? -

JJ: 20061104-0614UTC: Yes when there's something new to announce, e.g. the logmein service for the 10 min personal training to learn the wiki use.

JJ: 20061101-0536UTC - Would you be willing to put a little bit of text quite near the top of the Main Page like: (L2) If this is your first time to this page since creating your username account(/L2) then give a quick tip on how they can find their User:Joe Blow page. And encourage them to introduce themselves a little bit, while protecting actual identity, natch, then give the link to your User:Zeitgeist page as an e.g. and User_talk:Zeitgeist as a blog.

Z: 20061102-2152UTC Done!

JJ: 20061101-0536UTC - Wow!!! You are Stellar!

Monetizing the wiki to support the work of propagating the KSMOTP meme. PLEASE COMMENT ON THIS SECTION WHEN ABLE

..."monetizing" - a rather crass expression, but a financial reality. I need a link to the seminars embedded in the skin/template I guess. I'll figure that out.

JJ: 20061101-0555UTC - I need to get links to buy the seminar peppered discretely throughout the wiki. Since the sales are basically my only revenue - I need to encourage those sales upwards to cover the higher monthly server costs of supporting the wiki. Most people think I'm a millionaire - would that it were true. I agree with them that I "should" be :-) I hope that will help manifest something along those lines. :-)

So I was wondering about a discreet link in the link block that appears at the bottom of every page, and a link in the Toolbox box in the left col.

JJ: 20061103-0619UTC - What do you think?

Z: 20061101-1932UTC - Monetising - Why not put the:

Experience the excitement of this Adventure for yourself... Get the rights to:Live Forum posting In-Forum Instant Messaging, and Live Coaching Chats hosted by Jack. Order your copy of Jacks audio seminars now... Money-back guarantee No time limit.

.. that is on the ccwerks forum when not logged in under the toolbox of the left hand sidebar?

JJ: 20061103-0619UTC - Hmm... I like that idea of finding a way to make it only display when not logged in.

When logged in could have simpler links in Toolbox - to Key Sound training, Interviews and Forum Archive: 1995 - 2006

Plus link to Other Resources area where there are affiliate links to Ecstasy CD, and everything else mentioned by people in here...

Plus-plus the several thousand members of AASECT have published some INCREDIBLE books on adult sexuality - the WHOLE gamut. They are an incredibly fine group of people with a very wide range of professional and personal experience... From Rutgers University Professor Emeritus to clinical sexual surrogates.

Sidebar Edits

Z: I tried to edit the sidebar but cannot find how to do it. You can see how its done on mediawiki... which makes it worse! :-I

JJ: 20061103-0625UTC - I believe that requires an edit of the skin (template). Let me know what you'd like to do and we'll arrange it. There are about a dozen default skins available. That they come with the pkg suggests that THOSE are the ones that are fairly well tested thus don't require a lot of fussing to make them actually work correctly. We definitely don't want to spend time noodling skins errors. :-)

Tutorial for Newbies

JJ: 20061030-2305UTC - Do you know how to do a redirect? I found out how. Hit the Help link in the leftcol navbox and you'll come to group of pages I've built that include:

Help:OrgasmWiki Cheatsheet - A handy printable chart from Wikipedia summarizing how to format a page in the OrgasmWiki.

For now could you just post it here so the How do I use... will redirect to the How to use.

Check out the content on the How to use page and feel free to edit - as always! LOVE that version control, eh?

RE: Tutorial added to the list: Yeah, no kidding - but actually - near the top - since a few people have peeked at the wiki but it's still you me and Laly doing the lifting. That's why I went ahead and put some content into How to use the OrgasmWiki

I prefer that personalisation too. a degree of internalising.

JJ: 20061030-2305UTC - Precisely!

Z: 20061101-1318UTC Duplicated Help:Quick Guide to using OrgasmWiki onto wiki.

  1. Meanwhile, my goal is for a newbie or anybody to type a question into the wiki search box, and get a page by that name that contains the answer.
  1. I will be looking at the main site search logs, as well as the wiki search log, for which pages to create first.

This next graf is very good copy for the tutorial!

On Special:Recentchanges, One can look directly at the talk hyperlink for the corresponding blog entry, or name for a profile and indeed any other recent page changes - it has a sorta forum look to it! What do you think?...Z

Oh btw, that reminds me I think one of the very first things in the tutorial needs to be where do they go to ask general questions for help? Some wikis have a [Support Desk] page. What do you think about setting up something like that and putting a link in the left col NavBox?
