Hello all, I just started KS for a couple of days. One problem I have encountered is that during the breathing technique I get very relaxed and tired and end up falling asleep. While doing the breathing should I not close my eyes? Also, is (inhale + exhale) equal to one breath? thanks |

You may have a lot of adjusting to do. Have you listened to the questions and answers part of the CD enough to absorb all the information there? Also, is it possible you are already tired and by relaxing, you are ready to fall sleep regardless of what you are doing? Please post more details here or better yet come to the chat Thursday and receive help from Jack and others. The question and answer part of the CD is really loaded with all the good stuff you need to fine tune your practice. Unfortunately, since it is near the end of the CD, I missed all those great tips for quite a while...other people probably do that too. |

Hey Anonymous, I agree with Mike in wondering if you are already tired when you start your practice? A common problem newbies have with this, is that they tend to practice late at night, before they go to bed. It's much more productive to try this when you have plenty of extra energy available. About the eyes. Actually you will probably do better with them open. There's a few reasons for this. First is, of course, having them closed can make you sleepy! You'll want to be awake and aware for this practice. Second, you'll want to be aware of any new sensations you may feel during your sessions, and closing your eyes can be a little distracting. Third, you may have a desire to fantasize during practice, but again, that will likely draw your awareness away from your body and any of these new and subtle feelings your body has to offer. About the breathing, yep, 1 inhale + 1 exhale = 1 breath. I hope that helps. I strongly agree with Mike's advice to check that Q&A section in Jack's audio seminar, and definitely agree that the live chats are the best and fastest way to get help learning this system. Also, it's a big help to go through some of the recent chat Archives, and read some of the many excellent posts here in the Forum. With a little study, time, and practice, I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the results. To say the least! Best of Luck to You, Pan :-) |
