WOW Drew! My whole view of birth and labor is completely blown! I have never heard of anything like that before! I think you really hit on something. Do you suppose KSMO has the potential to be a beneficial part of labor? The whole idea of birth being seen as something orgasmic seems ancient and yet revolutionary at the the same time. Is this another example of knowledge lost in the shadow of religious oppression? Could orgasmic labor training be the future of our society? If that's possible, it certainly sounds like it would be a tremendous improvement over what both the mother and child experience with pain and fear. This is all so amazing! You really picked a great one for the Forum brother! I can't wait to hear what Jack has to say about this! |

Hi all, I stumbled upon this rather interesting web page: http://www.unassistedchildbirth.com/.../orgasmic.html I'm fascinated by this! Of course, as men, we never have and never will have the experience of giving birth to a child; perhaps the most primal experience of all. Wouldn't it be wonderful if every woman could experience childbirth in this way? It seems the body knows what to do, with all its innate wisdom. I see so many parallels in this article with KSMO: its primal nature; its key to SURVIVAL; the use of sound to express, etc. Any thoughts, comments? Best wishes, Drew :-) |

Hey Mercy, Thanks very much for bringing this great thread back to the top of the stack! I see I never got a chance to reply to Pan's post so I'll do so now. BTW, I updated the link in Drew's post, so readers should be able to get straight to the correct page. Here's a quote of Pan's post, with my comments interspersed: > WOW Drew! > >My whole view of birth and >labor is completely blown! I >have never heard of anything >like that before! I think you >really hit on something. Do >you suppose KSMO has the >potential to be a beneficial >part of labor? I most certainly do believe that KSMO may be of tremendous benefit during labor, when a woman has given herself permission to experience the naturally erotic nature of childbirth! I think this is especially true when the woman (and hopefully her partner) have already been practicing the Multiple Orgasm Trigger Protocol well before delivering the baby. >The whole idea >of birth being seen as >something orgasmic seems >ancient and yet revolutionary >at the the same time. Yep, I totally agree with Pan on that! >Is this >another example of knowledge >lost in the shadow of >religious oppression? I know what my hunch is about that! Also the oppression/repression of what remains generally an authoritarian and paternalistic medical environment in which most birthing still takes place in the developed countries. Fortunately now with a renaissance (totally the appropriate word, imho) of midwifery, and even in the more progressive hospitals... birthing rooms that feel more like the home environment, I think it's time to claim the right to experience the childbirth in this way. >Could >orgasmic labor training be the >future of our society? Let's hope so!!! >If >that's possible, it certainly >sounds like it would be a >tremendous improvement over >what both the mother and child >experience with pain and fear. Amen to that! >This is all so amazing! >You really picked a great one >for the Forum brother! I >can't wait to hear what Jack >has to say about this! Here it is! This time it didn't take me two years to reply (sometimes the volume of posts gets a little overwhelming, but that's ok since there are so many goodfolk to help reply to them now!). Again, thanks Mercy for popping this post back to the top of the stack! Best regards, Jack |

I just wanted to mention I think this ability highly unlikely without the right prenatal nutrition. Both of my labors were painless. I wasn't going to mention my diet on this board, but I am certain it was because the diet. All the other women in my birthing class who were hoping for this sort of experience, with training, did not have it. I just want to be realistic. Women's bodies are made to do this. We just have a nutritional deficiency in this country that blocks most women's ability to do so. The day after my second daughter was born, in tears I asked the OB making the rounds why no one believed I had been in labor. I was sent home, almost had the baby in the car stuck in rush hour traffic. They made me get on the scale and pee in a cup during my transition labor at the clinic, and then when they examined me sent me immediately to the hospital. She said to me, "Because you give birth the way women are supposed to give birth, and we never, ever see it." |

>I just wanted to mention I >think this ability highly >unlikely without the right >prenatal nutrition. That certainly makes sense to me! Informed pre-natal nutrition is imho an essential component in the overall picture, just as good nutrition tends to improve your life no matter what stage you are experiencing. |
