So I've been reading this book called "Urban Tantra" by Barbara Carrellas, and while I don't agree with everything in her book I have decided to try several of her breathing exercises to learn how to move energy and breath around my body.
While I don't completely buy into everything of eastern mysticism, I do see that there is definitely some basis there and that western society has wrongly written it off. I've been learning a bit about chakras as well, which I don't completely believe in either but I'm not ready to write them off. From research I think their may be a correlation to our endocrine system and it's organs. Additionally I have had some interesting experiences while doing some of the breath exercises in Barbara's book. I've practiced moving my breathe up and down my spine from the top of my head to my genitals and reverse. Through this I have had many great sensations but I have noticed a predominat feeling of energy building up in my chest. I get small momentary bursts in other areas ( ie. genitals and head etc. ) but for the most part it feels like the energy is continually building up in my chest. It feels really good at first but then after a while it almost feels like it is burning. Does anyone have any ideas as to why the energy seems to build up there or why I can't yet get a similiar feeling throughout the rest of my body?
