Hello, Jack. I thought I would respond to your question from earlier in the day. Sorry for the delay. I am on the night shift at the moment so my waking times are a bit inverted. I would certainly never claim to be an 'adept' with respect to KSMO. It seems to work for me, but I would never hold myself out as an expert. But perhaps I can share my story of how I got to that point, after buying your 4th Ed CD about a year ago.
I have a fairly stressful job---suffice it to say that it makes being an Air Traffic Controller at O'Hare look easy by comparison!--and realized some years ago that I needed to find some relaxation strategies. Whatever you care to call the blend of meditation, guided imagery, whatever, I made a fair bit of progress. One of the most important self-discoveries I made was a place somewhere between 'wide awake' and asleep where my I became extraordinarily aware of my body but I was so relaxed that.. ...I could literally do nothing but breathe. It was a little frightening at first...to be in that state of total relaxation...but I discovered that I was in control of it and more importantly that I would emerge from it amazingly refreshed. It was a different feeling than a long and deep sleep, with none of the drowsiness that ordinarily accompanies such a sleep. A few months ago, I awakened from sleep before my wife. She was beside me, her hand draped across my chest and our legs intertwined. (We have slept nude together for a quarter century.) In my not-quite-awake state, instead of getting up, I drifted into the state of total relaxation that mentioned. And here's where it got interesting. I could feel my breathing slow to match hers, and then I took in a deeper breath. As I exhaled in this totally relaxed state, I felt a rush of pleasure through my pelvis. Quite unlike anything I had ever felt before. I was not sexually aroused--at least as I know myself to be sexually aroused--this was quite different. So I took a few more shallow breaths in synchrony with hers, found I needed a deeper breath and...same rush of pleasure from deep in my pelvis...but this time it spread out a little more, both down my thighs and up my torso. This went on for a few more cycles until, with each deep breath, I could feel my still-totally-relaxed body sort of resonating. It was wonderful, but a very different sensation from anything I had ever experienced before. Of course, the next day or two when I tried to find this physical-mental "sweet-spot" again, I failed. But a few days later I found it again, and since that time it has been easier. Now as far as the KS goes, that's an interesting story as well. I didn't understand it/appreciate it at first, but I could more feel than hear a very deep vibration when I exhaled. It was like the vibration that you feel when standing next to a deep bass amplifier---but coming from within. A low frequency resonance much more than an audible sound. Could I make it audible? Yes, but for me that meant forcing it when I was in a totally relaxed state. This went on for a couple of months, more or less as a solo experience. It had everything to do with relaxation, and nothing to do with sex. Maybe a month or six weeks ago, my wife and I were making love. More or less by surprise, I found myself breathing much more deeply and found my brain "uncoupled" from me genitals. What I mean by this "uncoupling" is that I was experiencing rippling, reverberating waves of pleasure totally separate from any sense of urgency about ejaculation. And when I finally did ejaculate, the orgasm I experienced with it was much more powerful--almost a blinding pleasure--than I have experienced in recent memory. As my wife asked a few moments later--"WHAT was that about?!" She had clearly sensed that I was in a very different place. So that's my story, and it's why I came back to that chat a few weeks ago--to try to get a handle on what had happened, to understand it better, and to share a bit of the experience. I do not know whether my KS is valid. It's not clear to me what my "trigger" is--whether the reverberation that I feel in the deep breathing is the trigger or merely an enhancer. I'm confident that it augments and amplifies the experience, and perhaps that is enough. What I can say is that however you find this place of deeply-relaxed-but-brain-awake, there's a link between the deeply resonant breaths and the waves of pleasure that seem to spring from deep within the core of the body. Cause and effect? I have no idea. Associated? Definitely. Does the distinction matter? Not to me. What I have found most surprising--and I am not easily surprised--is the fact that this sense of total relaxation is complementary yet distinct from erotic arousal. When they are together, it's truly wonderful, but both can be enjoyed separately. That's my story, comments welcome... |
