Default Need Help

Hi All,

Just posting to get some help. I've been trying the Key Sound technique for over a year now I think. When I first got it I was very excited and I think I tried to make it happen. Which I know was wrong. Since then I've had times where I've set the technique down and then come back maybe a month or two later to try it again. I think I'm getting closer and closer to it, learning how to relax, dealing with issues etc. I can definately feel that there is something there under the surface waiting to get out. I've had some success now and then, particularily sitting on a hard chair and focusing on those feelings. I can't seem to get there though. I know it's going to take some time, but can you give me some tips. Thanks.

Default Need Help

Hi canuck,

I am also around the one year mark.

I am finding that paying attention to subtle pleasurable feelings - both in KSMO practice and just in general - is helping me to take some of the urgency out of needing to "make the big one happen". I think that urgency actually is one of the major barriers to being able to pay attention to your body's ability to "think for itself" and give you what you are ready for in the healing process. I think that is what this whole thing is really about - HEALING - not just pleasure for the sake of pleasure. So your body has the wisdom, if you allow it to unfold at it's own pace, to heal you physically, emotionally and spiritually. Relaxing - "allowing loving down-through your body in-breath" - paying attention to how it feels to pay attention - and how grateful your organism is that you are paying attention - is the fastest way. For me that is slow and steady. I ain't gonna win the race - but I am enjoying living the process.

For me the most helpful thing is paying attention to relaxing the breathing - and letting your belly fully participate in the breathing. Even just explaining to someone else how to "allow a loving, down through your body in-breath" I feel echoes - like a peaceful gentle tickling loving wind through my being. (Arthur Samuel Joseph is the source of that very useful quote - and I think is an amazing resource (I got his CD set "Vocal Awareness" - only been through the first two - but I think it is gold in support of this process)

The Kelly Howell cd's are great too - for helping you to tune into subtle innerness (I like "Sacred Ground" - many people rave also about the "Ecstacy" one.

This practice has stirred up quite a bit for me - and I am actually not even doing the keysound now (since two months) and just really slowing down - and for me this seems right. I have also started seeing a counselor. I have a huge stack of self-help books - most of which are helpful - my current favorite is "Your Hands Can Heal You" by Stephan Co - which is an amazing collection of helpful information (more than what the name suggests - with a Chi Kung slant.

Well actually there is tons I could say - blah blah blah - but I think the most helpful - is paying attention to how good you feel right now - and how good it feels to "allow a loving down-through-your body in-breath".

Good Luck.

yomo

Also if you feel like it - find a swing set...

Canuck-

I totally agree with Yomo on this one. Allow your body to guide you as you do the key sound; it will let you know!!! TRUST ME ON THAT! I have just recently come back to KSMO sessions after a 2 week "vacation", and had 2 of the most amazing and uplifting sessions to date. :-) . This is coming from a feminine perspective here, k.
Here is what works for me ...
I find that focusing on not on where I am i.e. sitting in a chair, laying on the floor but on imaging myself in a warm place like a beach or laying in a warm tub of water really seems to help heighten my senses and help me to relax more to do the key sound correctly. Allowing your mind and body to be in a comfortable place before beginning a session helps to keep the body from tensing up as well.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. I think a big part is the slowing down. In the past I've been a person who rushed to get places, by passing the journey. I think this process is good in that it helps me to really slow down not just in the MMO but in life. ie. driving... LOL

Hi,

This is an amazing thread - discovered by chasing Yomo's citation of the 'sage' Arthur Samuel Joseph (ALLOW the gentle loving in-breath down the body). It's just so - well, moving: the patience and easefulness of those veterans, Canuck, Yomo and dear Lally - the former two already a year in - quietly getting on with it. Now all three up there, with the heavens to explore. Salutary and quietly encouraging for a six-month fledgling. You really are an amazing bunch of guys.

Hi Lally -

Me too - smiling! Life is rich - and inclusive. 'Everything connects'. (Just waiting for news of our daughter's second baby - should be popping out any minute now). This quest need not be tunnel-visioned - as Yomo, and all of you say: it's much bigger than Big O's.
