See who's on Feature?
Jack, what about suggesting to O'Reilly some indicator to let one of us know if anyone else is concurrently browsing this board? Then one could invite the other into the chat room, or at least know to hang out in there to see if the other party came in. Or perhaps this exists and I haven't found the feature? jesse.

Ha! Funny you should mention that Jesse! I just wrote Tom at O'Reilly requesting that feature a coupla days ago. I just now forwarded a copy of your post to him. You can find out who's currently on the board by clicking MORE from the menu bar then Current Users. But at present all you can do is "see" that they're on. There's no way to page them, except telepathically, to invite them to chat. How frustrating! Especially since this is a feature that's been on bulletin boards for over 20 years! I invite you and anyone else who wants this feature to >politely< encourage them to make this very logical feature available as soon as possible. I say politely because Tom has been very good at being responsive to our requests for assistance, etc. AND it can help him in his communications to the development team if he hears from more than one of us. So I invite ALL of you reading this post to please write him at Tom Moore <software@ora.com> And request this feature as soon as possible. The logical place for is from the "Current Users" list. Just to be able to click on any name and be able to page them. Also, a current users BUTTON on the black menu bar would be WAY cool! Jack

Jesse/Jack: I have an idea that could work. When first logging on to the board, go into the chat room and then immediately exit. The board will keep you logged as a current user in the room for 15 minutes. Then browse the messages etc... and check back later. Anyone else logging on and wishing to chat could do the same and if the room shows a current user, they could send a message and eventually meet up for a chat. Not very efficient I know, but it would work.
