Thanks rumel and I know you know what an understatement that is as well!

So far I have not found another, and of course trustworthiness as well as budgetary consideration both play a crucial role in finding a replacement for vbmtor!

Ah then you know what a hassle THAT software can be!

I'd like to upgrade that software as well, and come up with an option that lets users of THIS forum self-register, but last time I checked it was either throw the doors wide open to anybody, or requiring an admin registration process.

Do you know if the wikimedia masters have at last deigned to give us an intermediate option in that software?

Thanks! Yeah especially since being a programmer is not my primary life-choice nor do I have stellar aptitude for it... It's mostly quite a plod.

Yes, thanks... especially considering the relatively miniscule cost for the lifelong skill that I'm imparting here! (ahem...)

That's a possibility, for sure. Of course the wizard doesn't need to be in Seattle necessarily... vbmtor did all of his work from Paris, and we got a lot done as long as his life permitted him the extra time to work for us here.

Thanks again for your suggestions and support!
All the best,
Jack

Hey Jack, I'd gladly offer my services but I'm not a programmer, just a salesman of websites. I'll ask a friend of mine if he knows of a good programmer.

In regards to the colour of the site, I'm wondering if a blue may go with the top masthead? Orange and blue are complimentary colours so they would definitely make the starburst stand out more. Just a thought.

As far as the counter, I'm thinking it could read x hours/days to next chat and then on the day of the chat start counting down. With some programming that may be viable.

If you do have access to a PC there is a screen capture program called "Wink" that is opensource/ free:

Wink - [Homepage]

Unfortunately there's no version for the Mac yet but it's a great program for a great price. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks. I'm afraid that would be too much contrast. We may explore something in the warm green range (that is, green that is more yellow green than blue green may work. We'll experiment with that when we get back.

K, thanks. I'd like to try a much smaller font first, rather than the expense of more programming on that item... some people want lots of advance notice and I'm trying to help them solve the GMT translation issue by providing the countdown, since we have people from all around the globe.

Thanks. That might work via Parallels shell on the Mac.

I'll check the Mac folks to see what equivalent there might be.

Thanks again!
