Jack,
That's the address I used. It may have been rejected due to the size or an embedded image, who knows. I just sent a regular email text message. Hopefully you'll get it. Try testing with IE7 if you aren't already. BTW, I got an email from the forum with some of the latest posts included. I had subscribed to this thread so that part is working as well. Otp |

Are you talking about an image spillover of around 10px or so? Since I didn't receive the screenshot, please give me a verbal description and a guesstimate of about how many px you're talking.
Here's my experience: In IE 7 I get about a 10px spillover. In Firefox 2.0.0.7 I get about a 10px UNDER display - i.e. about 10px SHORT of true 100%. If this is the type of error to which you are referring, it is most likely a browser rendering error. If that's the case it must be handled by a browser specific hack... One for IE, another for Firefox, and... who knows for Opera or others! If that's the case, would you be willing to go fishing in vbulletin.com, vbulletin.org and/or the IE or Firefox docs to find the hacks to fix this? It is annoying. I'm also having to rebuild my order form today since it has suddenly decided to start throwing errors in Firefox, so I'd appreciate your help in researching the hacks for browser design errors. Thanks for caring. I look forward to getting back to discussing practice! ![]() JJ |

I see what you're talking about with the image in Firefox being too short. However, in IE7, the image is much larger - around 400 px wider.
IE7 image url: http://www.multiples.com/howtolastlo...14-03kwide.gif Dimensions: 1403 x 67 Firefox: Image url: http://www.multiples.com/howtolastlo...14-03kwide.gif Width: 1026px Height: 49px I think I've probably gone about as far as I can with this. I just have basic html experience. I'm not sure if you are specifying the width on the img tag itself or what it is contained in, such as a table. You should probably set the 100% width on the container rather than the image itself since the image is so large. I don't know why it would display different on Firefox. I'm guessing you are using different img tags for different browsers. I hope this helps. If not, posting a sample of your code on vBulletin will probably yield a quick response. Otp |

Thanks O... I'm kinda at my limit of expertise on this for the time being as well.
I'm not using different tags for different browsers. I kinda refuse to... "go there." Really bugs me that the major players can't seem to manage to get their browsers to fully comply with w3c... I'll prolly get back to this at some point, once I feel I've made some meaningful headway in other areas, e.g. replying to people's questions and comments about practice ( oh... that!!!) Thanks again very much for workin' the prob as much as you have, and for your feedback. I always want to know! Best regards, Jack |
