Hello Jack! I hope you are well. I'm impressed by the amount of time and effort that you invest in trying to help people experience MO. Thank you! Allow me to express me appreciation a little by making in return some comments and suggestions about the site and forum: When I click on my Mozilla (I almost wrote mozzarella!) link to the forum, I get this message in a separate window: "Invalid XML response (0,57,63,0)" This is not a problem for me, but it could be for others. More serious, the links in your e-mails to my gmail address do not work: I systematically get a blank page and a message that the time for accessing the page is expired. As regards the Forum, which I find very helpful, I would suggest that the number of conferences is too great, to the point that it becomes confusing. The other night I had to spend (waste) some time figuring out where I should post my logbook. (I finally decided on Q & A Physical.) The theme of many conferences is quite clear but there are some which are not: e-mail general is too general, field research seems to duplicate the Q & A conferences, fears along the way could be include in Q & A emotional, etc., etc.. Finally, I would suggest that you drop the "AAAH!" from the name of your site. When I first visited your site several years ago that "Aaah" put me off. It seemed vulgar (probably I sensed unconsciously raw sexual energy in that roar and that frightened me). "Aaah" could also reminder people unconsciously of stressful situations they experienced as children - parental or authority figures shouting at them in anger, the roar of giants, villains and other ogres in stories, the sound of pain.... Now that I have taken the plunge and bought your audio and read the PDF file I understand what the "Aaah" represents and I know that it can be a very gentle, loving sound. But because "first impressions" are so important, I would suggest that you consider removing it from the name of your site. I hope that these comments are useful. You do not need to reply to them. Best wishes, "Smithie" |

Smithie...
thank you for your comments and suggestions - 'As regards the Forum, which I find very helpful, I would suggest that the number of conferences is too great, to the point that it becomes confusing. I have had some trouble in regards where to post myself smithie. I am helping Jack with the links- updating them and condensing links and stuff so that they are more up-to-date with today's technology. As for the other suggestion- I am sure Jack will take it into consideration. Thank you for your wonderful comments and suggestion Smithie. I am sure Jack will respond as soon as he is able to. Hugs to you and have a great weekend.

Hey Jack, You asked for suggestions for the new site... Here are some off the top of my head??? Off-the-Cuff Ideas: - Don't know where to start a thread, usually??? - A list of links on Home page, then we only need one link for KSMO Home Page(I have 5 links in my Favorites for KSMO) - List other helpful links... - Allow us to include our e-mail address or not...(this would show up on all posts under our name, if we choose to show it?) -Decrease the number of major topics and make the title more concise(as already stated) -maybe use a simple graphic for each topic and carry it thru to each page that's under that topic... (ex: Suggestion Box has a graphic representation of a suggestion box, that is on upper left of each page connected to "suggestion box", an easy way to always know where you are??? (some sites use color in this way or design a complete design look for each of these topic location on the site?) - It would be nice to know who is on-line sometimes and maybe a way of chatting with them??? Just a few??? Later, Hlaser99

Thanks very much hlaser! I hope you'll help us implement these suggestions once the wiki is available. Here a page that describes what our "empty bucket" will look like and how it will function when it first becomes operational - waiting for US to organize and fill it with content the way WE want!: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_feature_list |
