OKAY- I got a reply from the RocketTheme support team regarding my questions about the layout
"The modules are collapsible so there is a great element of flexibility. Therefore, if you only publish a module to user1, it will span the whole user1-3 block. Cheers, RocketTheme Support RocketTheme, LLC

OK, Jack, I revised this per your suggestion. Are you interested in using this as a KSMO sigil? What should it be called - the KAZMOS?

Hi Jack, here's the layout that I've worked up. Hopefully that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can help in any other way.

Wow thanks a HEAP, Canuck. It looks GREAT to me!
I can hardly wait to implement it. vBmtor says he plans to begin the install this coming weekend. Cheers, eh... Jack |

Thanks, C! It's Joomla so you and other interested regulars get to come in and play to make it better, too!
Thanks again for your significant part in it so far. I now gotta meet up with vbmtor online to support his installing the various components to a test area. I'll post the URL once he has it defined. Like being present at a (re-)birth!

The only update is that we're having trouble getting the bridge between vBulletin Forum and the Joomla Templates system to work.
It's not letting people log in to the Forum through the Joomla template as it should. Vbmtor tried several times, then I had to go back to the program developer, who is in Viet Nam and takes a day or two each time to answer a question. Current status is that he's agreed to look at the install and tell us what the problem is... and hopefully how to fix it. And... I'm not sure he works on weekends... But one can hope! It's driving me bonkers to be stuck or nearly stuck at this stage of the process! ![]() Ah well, as the Protocol teaches, RELAX... BREATHE.... I hope to see you in the chats tomorrow. All the best, Jack |

Well the bbpixel bridge between vBulletin and Joomla just never worked correctly, so I asked vbmtor to yank bbpixel back out of the system.
He agreed that unfortunately bbpixel just didn't handle everything as need be. Also it appears that the bridge was the only game in town for bridging between vB and Joomla. But a company called JFusion has been creating a bridge that has a vBulletin version due out in beta on Dec 25. So we're in hurry up and wait mode. Meanwhile, in addition to Joomla Templates Club - Pro Joomla Templates & Designs - Joomla templates, which you should browse and identify the one(s) you like, also check out YOOtheme - Web 2.0 Joomla Templates and https://www.joomlart.com/ including one I find kinda cool: https://www.joomlart.com/forums/showthread.php?p=91586 The point is, as I understand it, that the content from the Forum can be piped to any number of templates fairly easily. This means that people who prefer just a few items on their page at a time, and have their favorites can just draw those from the vbulletin database and view them via a joomla template in an arrangement, color scheme, etc. that is of your liking. And you like a higher-density presentation of options and content doorways you can likewise view our site through such a panel or window. I'm not yet clear how much server load (i.e. degradation of response time) results from different users viewing different templates at the same time but our ISP has pretty hefty capacity available and so far (about 4 years) their support has been superb (knock knock knock). Meanwhile, between KSMO practice sessions, I hope you'll browse those template sites and any other Joomla template sites that interest you. You can just Google - or whatever search engine you prefer - let me know which, btw! You can post in reply to this thread, please re: which search engines you like to use. I guess you could call it window shopping, as you shop for your preferred window or windows for accessing the continually growing body of learning and experience documented here since 1997. More, earliest and very best wishes for the Holly Days, Jack |
