Travek channel program
Jack, Did you catch the travel channel program sunday evening on Hawaii. A portion was dedicated to secret native rituals never before photographed. These male warrior rituals were oppressed by missionaries and went underground for more than a hundred years. So they may no longer be exactly as originally performed. These men, from teens to elders, dance in crouched posture, and huff and growl to simple arm and hand gestures. The growls are compound sounds and extremely primal in nature. If you can catch a repeat of that show, I'd love to hear your comments on those guttural sounds being made in this ceremony. The rituals are similar to ceremonies also performed by the Maori of New Zealand. Rodney
