Here's a Taoist method of breathing on the chi machine which betrays the close connection between MMO and circulating chi, ideal for doing on the machine to amplify its effect: I'll describe it first with the original rationale, which is to utilize the chi behind the morning erection that Taoist celibates are wont to have when they first awake in the morning: the net affect is much refreshing. On first waking, go onto the flat of the back, with the usual intent of meditation viz. no extraneous thoughts and so forth, and attention on breathing. The idea is to circulate chi synchronized with very slow breathing, until with a little practice over days or more, you can get the erection to subside and even contract. Traditionally if you had no erection on waking, then getting one was part of this exercise. The procedure is: Concentrate on the perineum casting the eyes down, and when ready to take a slow IN-breath (thru nose), jump the attention up the spine to the level of the solar plexus, and the eyeballs straight ahead (closed) and hold it there : halfway thru the in-breath, jump attention to the crown of the head, and eyeballs up, completing the IN-breath slowly. When ready to breathe out jump the attention to the solar plexus, eyeballs down to straight ahead, & hold that till halfway thru the out-breath: then attention down to the perineum, eyeballs down, and complete the out-breath slowly. There is no holding of the breath, only a comfortable synchronizing of it with the eyes and attention, and slowing it down. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but it is worth the effort, and it certainly works at any time, but was especially recommended on first awaking. You might even get a flash of panic at the result at first, I certainly did but don't worry about it. In any case it will become difficult to sustain for long, so just give up into the relief of it, and appreciate that. Athletics and dogged determination to do so many rep's is probably dangerous. The original idea of using the method to take down an erection is that then the chi is available, but otherwise lost: now when on the machine the chi is available, and the exercise can much amplify the effect, and makes it coherent. But I'd suggest you get the hang of the exercise first, before using it on the machine. This method is related to Taoist "Reverse Breathing" recommended for Taoist meditation which is: breathing slowly, belly IN on IN-breath, and pushed OUT on OUT-breath, but gently; sound familiar? There is no particular reason it can't be combined with the above chi circulation exercise if so inclined, after you get the hang of the rest. And try it after MMO. Sooner or later you'll start to get insight into the thread connecting these things viz. being able to take down an erection when you want to: amplifying the effects of the chi machine: & the results on MMO itself, using VB & KS as per instructions. Cheers SKFu By the way, an email to: kaiman@sun-harmony.com with query on using the chi machine, will get you a very comprehensive list of instructions and advice for using the machine standard. A short excerpt: * Rest for AT LEAST one minute before turning on the machine. Deliberately relax every part of your body .. while picturing your fingers, arms, shoulders, chest, stomach, thighs, legs, toes ... etc. being relaxed. * Breathe in through your nose as slowly as possible. Picture the breath going to the bottom of your stomach. Hold the breath for 1-2 seconds. Release the breath slowly and let it go up the spine and neck, and out through your mouth. Let yourself yawn; it replaces your stagnant air by fresh air. * Repeat the breathing pattern. Think ONLY about breathing, i.e., don't think about your body, the machine, and/or anything else. * Turn on the machine. Continue the breathing pattern and its thought. * When the machine stops, continue the breathing pattern and its thought for as long as you have time for (AT LEAST TWO MINUTES.) You might fall asleep, and that is OK. |
