Sorry to hear this Jack. As they say trial and error eh??

But a company called JFusion has been creating a bridge that has a vBulletin version due out in beta on Dec 25.
So we're in hurry up and wait mode.

As they say, one door doesn't close but another door/opportunity arises. k-- more gold nuggets seem to come to mind - lol...patience is a virtue?? Lord above sure waved his wand over you for that one

.
I did get a chance to check each of these links and I agree I LOVE LOVE the last one , it seems to be the best as I picture how the layout of the Forum would look in that template

The point is, as I understand it, that the content from the Forum can be piped to any number of templates fairly easily.
This means that people who prefer just a few items on their page at a time, and have their favorites can just draw those from the vbulletin database and view them via a joomla template in an arrangement, color scheme, etc. that is of your liking.

That is what first got my attention/approval about Joomla in the first place- the versatility and ability to set it up with individual preferences

And you like a higher-density presentation of options and content doorways you can likewise view our site through such a panel or window.
I'm not yet clear how much server load (i.e. degradation of response time) results from different users viewing different templates at the same time but our ISP has pretty hefty capacity available and so far (about 4 years) their support has been superb (knock knock knock).

As I read this the first thing that came to mind is when we converted over to OrgasmWiki site a few years ago-- and the "breakdowns" that occurred then and learning from those on what needed to be adjusted or fixed.

Meanwhile, between KSMO practice sessions, I hope you'll browse those template sites and any other Joomla template sites that interest you. You can just Google - or whatever search engine you prefer - let me know which, btw!
You can post in reply to this thread, please re: which search engines you like to use.

I guess you could call it window shopping, as you shop for your preferred window or windows for accessing the continually growing body of learning and experience documented here since 1997.
More, earliest and very best wishes for the Holly Days,
