Default Re: QUESTIONS FOR OUR COMMUNITY - HOW ABOUT JOOMLA CONTENT MGMT SYSTEM?

Hey Jack, In response to your question above regarding the Versatility template IV, one of the first things I do with any client that comes in for a website design is to sit down with them and establish a 'wireframe' which is just a hierarchical listing of the pages and subsections within a site. Once I have that I can then establish which sections/ pages carry more weight than others and which ones need to be foregrounded on the website and have prime real estate on the homepage. Remember too that the goal of any good site with alot of content is to provide multiple doors into that content. So not only would you have links in the main navigation but you would have boxes on the homepage leading into the content as well. As I see it right now, this is your basic basic wireframe:

Once you have established above, then, as you are already doing, you will want to sit down and decide what new sections/ features you would like on your site. From the template it looks like you will want these additional sections:

-podcasts
-testimonials
-featured users
-helpful links
-more advertising for your online store

Those are just some of the few I can think of. From the reading I've done on the versatility template you posted, it looks like you should be able to provide users with all these features. Hopefully you can play with the layout as the one above is a little too chaotic. Too busy with too many boxes. The hardest part is planning and prioritizing the websites content and what should and shouldn't be on the homepage and where.
