Default Re: Transmuting sexual energy

Thank you for your reply Jack!

I will read your post several times again, and I’m certain that continuing to come back and remind myself to relax is something I can benefit from. I think, though, that the transmuting exercise doesn’t necessarily focus on tension, or rather tension is not the result. There is a tensing involved in the procedure, but it’s not the whole focus. I don’t know if you’ve had the chance to look at her video, but she demonstrates taking a deep breath in, focusing on drawing the sexual/erotic energy up the spine and into the head, tensing the PC muscles, taking a sniff of air to direct it toward the crown (or swallowing to direct the energy toward the heart) and then letting out the breath and relaxing the muscles all together, picturing the energy flowering like a lotus from the top/crown of the head (or from the heart).

This is, in my view, not unrelated to your image of guiding the energy up and out the crown of the head. I don’t think the tensing of the PC muscles in this way lead to more tension, but rather they relax one, similar to body tensing before a meditation—the result of the temporary tension is heightened relaxation. I do this before I meditate as it calms me and makes me more able to relax than if I hadn’t.

I don’t want to mislead you…I have come a long way with throat relaxation and can sometimes expel energy well, but as I said, if the session is more stimulation oriented (not just single touch/imagery/emotion) then over time, I’m not yet able to express enough of that via the key sound. I will continue to focus on my relaxation, particularly in the throat. And opening…

Since starting to use the Aneros about a week ago, I’ve noticed (at least so far) that when I use that and vocalize the key sound, they seem to have an even greater resonance than I’ve noticed before. I try to keep them soft (not loud) and husky, and this has quite a rich, dark vibrancy. Have you noticed this at all? I’ll keep working with that.
