I feel that the Chatbox Transcripts are generated too frequently. Instead of daily transcript creations, I suggest that it be changed to weekly, and run sometime Sunday evening (East Coast USA time). There are a few reasons why I feel this way:

1) The daily clearing of the Chatbox gives an impression of inactivity. If there has been a conversation between two or more users, lets say on Monday, then someone logging in on Wednesday would be aware of it by scrolling down in the Chatbox (as opposed to scanning through, mostly empty, Chatbox transcripts).

Which brings me to my second point,

2) Most Chatbox transcripts are fairly empty. Weekly generation of Chatbox transcripts would give moe an impression of activity.


Another suggestion, instead of the daily/weekly transcripts you might want to consider creating a script which generates transcripts only when a certain number of 'Shouts'/comments have been made. If for instance, 200 Shouts (an arbitrary number) have been made, then the script then triggers to run at the end of that day. This way, transcripts are only generated when there has been activity.
