Re: first post
Hi canuck...
yeah, that's a good question!
I haven't actually been doing any exercises specifically for testicle lifting until now. I have done, as I said, mulabanda and asvini mudra, sometimes quite vigorously, especially when also, after complete exhale, lifting the lower abdomen up into the diaphragm (uddiyana banda). As the breath hold extends, the lifting can get pretty strong. Combined with sambhavi mudra (brow gazing) and khechari mudra (tongue in nasopharynx), this posture and mudra complex is especially good for raising excess sexual energy up the spine for use in the upper body.
But I think your answer is, in the nervous system, cremasters are close to the muscles that restrict urine flow. You can stand, feet apart, knees and waist slightly bent, then pinch your scrotum above the balls. Now tense the ureter muscles, and you should be able to feel motion in the balls. Keep at it, and when you feel just the balls moving up and in, you have located the cremasters.
I have found, for myself, it's best to isolate them while sitting in siddhasana. I just flex the perineum as in a kegel rep, then roll the flex up into the scrotum. As long as I am just pulling in the scrotum and testes only, the cremasters are working and the energy flows well. So then I drop the kegel and stay with the scrotum.
The few times I have practiced this, the result has been replicated-steady energy flow, and a calming of the breathing reflex. I will be starting my post-pranayama meditation session with a few minutes of this exercise set for at least one session a day from now on, at least until I move on to something better. The idea is to enhance deep meditation.
But this could enhance advanced KSMMO also, nicht wahr?
I'm thinking that this exercise might be enhanced by sitting on a prostate cradle, which I have no experience with as yet. I'm thinking of scoring one. Might work for me, especially as I am not able to sit on my heel. All major pressure points engaged, plus cremasters, could be a good combo. Anyone care to opine about this?
