Gold Nugget - Breathing tips during high arousal and orgasm
I must qualify the following remarks as simply what has worked for me, and is based on a layman's understanding of breathing.
I am not a physician nor am I licensed or trained as a respiratory therapist or coach.
Perhaps coldsteel (who IS a physician and surgeon) will comment on this issue.
That said, you may also just expel breath without sound, but this too can be a little tricky as it's important not to lapse into a rapid panting pattern.
Instead, I recommend a pursed lips exhalation of expressing the energy.
By pursed lips, I mean to purse your lips
somewhat as if you are going to whistle, and then exhale through those pursed lips, while consciously slowing down the exhalation to the extent that you can.
Here are a couple of links that can better explain this method:

This method creates a
little bit of resistance to overly rapid expulsions of air, creating a mild back pressure in your lungs as you exhale.
It's my understanding from respiratory therapists that this maintains a better blood chemistry than if you are just constantly allowing a series of full and rapid expulsions of all of the air in your lungs. That can be hazardous, as well as making you feel dizzy and light-headed.
