re:ENTP/INTP and the tests, it is really the differences in wording in the different tests' questions. The questions/statements in the four section simple Cognitive Style Inventory on the page to which you provided the link for MBTI clearly had me INTP.

Both the Keirsey and the P100 extensive questionaires showed a mix of both E and I in their detailed results documentation, with the extrovert/introvert needs/behaviours as complementary, and both showed the E as the stronger of the two (therefore ENTP), but the need/expression of both being a defining characteristic in itself.

Good continuing progress to you friend R!

    artform,

Well that’s cool that you took the MBTI test, though I didn’t expect that you would go further and outlay funds for further testing. I’m curious how you could be both ENTP & INTP from the same test, I thought they were mutually exclusive. Yes, regarding the “web labyrinth” I suppose there could be no end to the internet rabbit holes one might investigate. Did you read the latest posts by ‘plantation’ on the Aneros Forum? He brought some new resources to be explored as well.

    Hi rumel!

I feel like we have entered a web labyrinth! Clicked on the MBTI link you included and clicked on the Take the Test button, which turned out to be another site Personality100.com and took that test... 100 pages later and $30 bucks lighter I am a Thinker! So, I went back and read more at the original MBTI site, answered the four questions and am both ENTP and INTP, also backed up by the 100 pages! The "four questions" Cognitive Style Inventory biases to INTP; Keirsey and P100 to ENTP.

P100 (a full MBTI test - 4 web pages of questions) also rated my "Openess" (vrs Structure) as moderate tending to high (80%) which is probably why I am here and Aneros etc. and and contemplating this next variant!

However, as someone who is scanning and writing about the increasing dominance of narrative and storytelling as foundational modes of communications of all sorts, in all kinds of silos of specialization, I was fascinated to stumble upon PMAI and their Archetype Indicator system and Test About the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator Instrument - CAPT.org "What is your life story and what roles do you play?" being the fundamental idea...

Haven't yet, but will probably try this too for fun!

    all the best

    Hi artform,

I went and took the Kiersey Test just now and came out as ‘Artisan’, I didn’t pay to do the refined narrowing category but I suspect I would be in the ‘Crafter’ group (ISTP). However, I think the MBTI test was more accurate because when I looked at the people identified as ‘The Rationals’ versus the group identified as ‘The Artisans’, I immediately identified more with ‘The Rationals’ group, see - http://www.keirsey.com/handler.aspx?...=5&c=architect . This is all very interesting, I would be curious how your personality group would be identified through the MBTI test (see - MBTI Personality Test: Understanding Your MBTI or Myers Briggs Personality Type ), just so we could compare apples to apples, with regard to the tests.

Well rumel, more common ground! Great new post in your blog BTW. I trained as an architect at university. Two serious car accidents and resulting permanent "unstable vision" ended that as a career option. Have done much in a range of design fields, innovations in social architecture and cultural development, and worked as a consultant on architectural teams...
Took the Keirsey Test just now and came out Rational Inventor ENTP. There with my late friend Bucky Fuller and Walt whose creative, business and personal history docs occupy about five feet of my bookshelf space... Howdy temperament neighbour!

artform, Thanks for the words of encouragement, hopefully, this old bottle of cabernet (me) has aged and mellowed sufficiently to now be an enjoyable days diversion for life's palate (I hope I haven't turned to vinegar)
