I'm back

Well after a long long break I am returning to this practice.

I have intended to for some time but there have been things that kept getting thrown up in the way, a biggie of course being time management.

I have found a way, however, to be able to schedule two 20 minute sessions in a week on a Tuesday and a Thursday and started this week.

I have been listening to the guided 20 minute session and really focusing on trying to get the sound right, trying to get husky enough.

It's hard because I cannot get the sound the same every time and sometimes it feels like a hit and there is some sensations arising and other times like a miss and all sensation fades.

I have been making the sound as husky as possible and have found that waving the sound down rather than gulping it (which is what I was doing before) seems to work much better.

On the first occassion (Tuesday) I had some small sensation arising and I finished feeling relaxed and quite pleasant.

On Thursday I had a lot of heat develop in my genitals and felt like I was on the cusp of something that never ended up occurring. I'm ok with that... just having that 20 minutes to lie down and focus in on myself is pleasant enough as it is for right now.

I don't really know what to expect so I do find myself straining quite hard for any tiny sensation and thinking "is this it? is something happening now? what about now?"

However from doing just these two sessions I feel more balanced sexually and not as ummmm urgeful as I have felt before. Like my sexuality is somewhat smoother.

We'll see what happens in the weeks to come....

Hey MM it's nice that you checked back in!

The quoted section does indicate one of the common traps of the early stages of this practice, what a woman Adept named Andi very aptly described as chasing the fawn.

That is, that kind of anxious is this it feeling that tends to scare away the sensations, like one might scare away a shy young deer (fawn) that is just beginning to come out of the woods into the meadow, and you suddenly shout Look!!! Here comes a fawn!!! and that startles the fawn and it runs back into the woods!

It's also why I often say that the greater challenge to learning this skill is not between the legs, it's between the ears! That is, those tricks that our mind can play on us, especially since learning this skill is something we want so strongly!

The secret is to just show up for practice... that is, continue to do the practice AND... keep checking in with me and the rest of our community about it.

The other thing is, of course, your overall stress level.

What's happening in the job situation???

Did your contract get renewed or did you find another gig??

For SURE if you're sweating how you're going to support yourself, that can affect how challenging just being able to relax and allow yourself to feel ANY kind of pleasure!

What can help though is playing some relaxing music (without lyrics) as you practice.

In fact, start the music before you actually begin the 20 minute Key Sound practice part of the session...

Start by listening to the Ecstasy CD for about ten minutes and with it still playing THEN begin your Key Sound™ practice!

Hi Jack,

I am really keen to get on with this practice but it is a real challenge to find a place to fit it into my schedule.

My contract did get renewed (and I will pay for that extra seminar when I have used it more).

My life is great... but I am juggling several important, to me, things and it is hard to fit in that 20 minutes at a time when I am the only one home in our very small house (if my girlfriend or her son are here there is no space anywhere for me to be alone for this practice).

My work, my girlfriend, my physical practice and my spiritual practice currently take all of my time.

There may be a chance to start working it in again soon but the problem is that the only easily available time is when I get home from work about 5pm which is a 'low' energy time and any time I have tried I just fall asleep.

Any solutions for that one?
