Tune-up with Jack
Gold Nugget - Multiple Orgasm Trigger Practice Tips
I decided once I started up again I would give myself another tuneup with Jack, both to make sure I was articulating the key sound within tolerances and to get another dose of Jack's good attitude. So we got together on the phone today and it was great, as it was the first time. (The last time I got underway I did the same, and Jack had really helpful suggestions that were very specific and responsive to my particular temperament. He is able to tune your key sound and quite lightly point out any attitudes you are unconsciously bringing to the practice. Last time I didn't get anything written down and I lost - or at least misplaced - some of the wisdom and momentum from the session. It feels really good to be getting it down this time).
In today's session Jack emphasized the breathiness of the key sound, helping me get a sense of volume and more vibration in the chest cavity/body core. I also tend to overextend the end of the outbreath a bit which can build up tension.
Probably as important were the nuggets of wisdom he generously sprinkled throughout the session:
"use the echo effects as your guide"
"you don't need to push to understand 'why' certain things are happening. As with the echo affects, you can just allow insight to arise, not chase after them"
"tension can be the difference between where you (think you are) supposed to be and where you actually are"
"The underlying concept in the protocol is that anything that wants to happen, that arises spontaneously, let it happen" **
(t**here is an exception here - when the desire to increase stimulation arises, Jack says to see what happens if you don't do that - try groaning louder or breathing deeper instead)
I think I understood in listening to him that with the very vigilant mind I have, I'm unlikely to miss much -- and that I can let things go during the session. My key sound is within range and I don't need to fuss with it or obsess over it. (And if I do, just another thing that's happening). It occurred to me that it's kind of like vision - with your eyes open, seeing happens, and things register at some level, without your conscious effort. - you could hardly turn it off if you wanted to. So I don't have to do all the work for learning to occur.
He pointed out that in my last post, the desire/increased arousal didn't fit my model, so I resisted it. (in my own words, I didn't welcome the shift). He encouraged me to allow, allow, allow, and trust the body and the process to go where it needed to go. Increased arousal will happen, and that's part of it. (I am seeing that I am more comfortable sometimes with bliss than arousal.) He also pointed out that the process can take you down cul-de-sacs or some place that doesn't exactly work out that way you were hoping, and that's OK too. If you enter a cul-de-sac, you'll just come out again, now knowing what was there (my words).
Almost last thing - Jack's final words, and I think his intuition was picking up something here, was that emotions might arise, and to allow them to be there too. I am feeling a bit opened up by both life and the practice so I think that's going to be timely advice.
At Jack's suggestion I did a practice session after we got off the phone. I will add a short separate post on that.
I will close with Jack's words that are still ringing in my ears... "You're doing fine!"
